Tiffany Richmond - CTC Breaking Traditions Award PDF Print E-mail
Traverse City, MI--- The Breaking Traditions Awards were established by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) to recognize students who have been successful in career and technical education program areas or postsecondary occupational programs that are nontraditional for their gender. Tiffany Richmond of Bellaire High School was nominated by the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District Career-Tech Center for her outstanding skill and accomplishments in her chosen career path: 

tiffanyrichmondctc.jpgTiffany Richmond, a student in the Power Equipment Technology program, is from Bellaire High School. Her career experience has included disassembly, measuring and reassembling two-stroke and four-stroke engines, shop safety, use of power and hand tools, electrical safety, learning engine systems, marine mechanics, compact diesel equipment, and hydraulic equipment with additional hands-on cooperative job experience through local business partners. 

Every year the Michigan Department of Education, Office of Career and Technical Education, selects students from across the state to receive its Breaking Traditions Merit Award. Tiffany will be honored in a ceremony at the G. Mennan Williams Building in Lansing on May 13, 2010.
