The Bellaire Public Schools staff and community members began work several weeks ago to develop a plan to continue educating our students in the event that schools were closed for the remainder of the year. With Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order 2020-35, we are now in that very situation we’d hoped to avoid.
We are fortunate that everyone has really stepped up to produce a plan that we believe will provide the best learning opportunities for all Bellaire Public Schools students during the mandated school closure. This Continuity of Learning Plan, approved by the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District, is presented here for your review.
Our teachers will be in touch within the next week, either by email, telephone, or another mode of communication. They will let you know how things are going to work on their end, and also what their expectations are for their students.
Elementary instructional packets will be delivered to all elementary students by Bellaire Public School buses every Friday, beginning on April 17, 2020, and continuing through the end of the school year.
While secondary instruction is primarily planned for electronic delivery, that will look different depending on the teacher. Please review the Continuity of Learning Plan, above, for more details about exactly how this will work at middle school and high school.
