Jaelyn Silk, daughter of Lori and Rob Silk, has been selected as the February – Rotary Student of the Month for Bellaire High School. Jaelyn has proven herself to be an excellent student and an outstanding member of the community. She is hard working, service-centered and a well-rounded individual who is more than deserving of this honor.
Academically, Jaelyn is a student at the Manufacturing Technology Academy (MTA) program at TBAISD. In this program, she participates in all Honors-level academic classes and is a member of the Sumo Robot Team, which will compete at the 2019 National Robotics Competition. At MTA, she is a member of the National Technical Honor Society. Jaelyn is also dual enrolled at Northwestern Michigan College, where she has earned a place on the Deans List.
At Bellaire Public Schools, Jaelyn is a 3 year member of the Student Council and is currently the President of the Bellaire Chapter of the National Honor Society. She has also been a four year percussionist in the Bellaire High School Band and a member of the VEX Educational Robotics team.
Jaelyn is also a valued member of the community where she has volunteered at Toys for Tots and Arts for All through the National Honors Society along with volunteering at AC Paw. She also has given her time to help at TBAISD Career Tech Center and has helped out as the sound technician for BHS musicals. Congratulations Jaelyn!
