It is a privilege to honor Madison Martinek, Bellaire High School Senior, as Rotary Student of the Month for March. Whether interacting with Madison in the classroom or in an extra-curricular activity, one cannot help but have a positive impression of Madison.
Madison carries a 3.7 G.P.A. while being involved in many school activities such as National Honor Society, Antrim County Youth Coalition, Student Council, Prom Committee, Class Treasurer, volleyball, basketball, cross country, and softball. Madison has also been generous in donating her time to various local organizations, clocking 100 volunteer hours through LuvPacs, Meadowbrook Medical Care Facility and St. Luke’s Youth Group activities. She was the winner of this year’s V.F.W. America and Me Essay Contest for Bellaire High School and is a recipient of the CMU Academic Prestige Award.
Madison is the type of unselfish person that every organization needs: a positive motivator for others, while bringing a fun, lighthearted attitude. As an athlete at Bellaire High School, Madison demonstrates great sportsmanship. She is the type of player who does not seek individual glory, instead preferring to see team success.
Madison, the daughter of Tony and Jennifer Martinek, is a kind, humble, and open-minded individual who has a willingness to put aside personal agendas or interests in order to get to know others, which is why she is considered a friend by many. When attending Central Michigan University next fall, these qualities will serve Madison well. Madison is a positive role model for younger students to follow and a wonderful representative of Bellaire High School. Congratulations, Madison!
