March 2017 Rotary Student of the Month – Garrison Dawson

Garrison Dawson has been selected for the Bellaire Rotary Student of the Month Program for the month of March.  Garrison, son of Doug and Lorri Dawson, dreams of becoming an anesthesiologist in a hospital.  He wishes to embark on this dream by studying at Adrian College as a Pre-medical student majoring in Biology or Chemistry.

Currently, Garrison maintains a 3.976 grade point average, being on the all “A’s Honor Roll” all four years of high school and has perfect attendance throughout all of high school.  Garrison is a remarkable student who is a creative problem solver and thinker, and, he is a genuinely helpful, patient young man as demonstrated with tutoring a reluctant, difficult student.

Garrison has been a leader as captain of the cross country team, track, Senior Class President, treasurer and member of the National Honor Society.  Garrison has earned First Team All-Conference and All State Academic for cross country in Fall of 2017 and track his Junior Year.   In his spare time Garrison volunteers in church youth group and tutors a student in Math.   Hunting and running are two of Garrison’s favorite hobbies!
