Katie Rathke, daughter of Brian and Lisa Rathke, has been selected as the March Bellaire Rotary Student of the month. Katie is an outstanding student, athlete, and role model for her community.
Katie has excelled during her time at Bellaire High School as evidenced by her 3.992 grade point average. She has been recognized for her academic abilities through her involvement in the National Honor Society (NHS) and her inclusion in the Bellaire Honor Roll each semester. Katie will be Bellaire’s Class of 2018 Salutatorian. Katie’s favorite classes are Math and Science.
Katie is actively involved within the school community as well. She has played Varsity Volleyball. She has been an active member of the school choir and band. She also is a dual-enrolled student at Northwestern Michigan College taking classes to further challenge herself.
Katie has been actively involved in the community through her work as Miss Bellaire, attending Bellaire Community United Methodist Church and working with her family at Bellaire Family and Cosmetic Dentistry.
Katie has many hobbies outside of school. She has taken Ballet, Tap and Jazz dance classes for 15 years and has played the piano for 10 years. Katie also does horseback riding and barrel racing. Katie has a tremendous love of the outdoors and enjoys competitive skeet shooting, hunting, boating, fishing and snowboarding.
She plans to study Pre-Med at the University of Michigan this fall.
