At the end of the day May 13 we only have sixteen full days and two ½ days left before the end of the school year. Whaaatttttt?? How did that happen? Every year seems to go faster (could be something to do with my age) and faster. As always, it has been a privilege to work with your students and I am thankful that you share them with us so that we can be partners in education.

If you are not here 10 minutes after the scheduled START TIME we will have your child go through the lunch line and you can meet them on the playground when you arrive.
Please remember that classroom instruction will continue in the afternoon so please consider having your child stay for the full day.
If you take your child after lunch please make sure to sign out in the office.
If you did not order a lunch (deadline has passed) please bring a blanket/towel and a sack lunch to enjoy lunch with your child.
ü To avoid congestion – If you did not order lunch please wait outside the gym door.
KRISPY KREME DONUT PICK-UP – Picnic Day – May 22 (11:00-12:30)
PTO – Please hug your PTO members for a job well done. They spend a multitude of hours making sure that our students enjoy fun events throughout the year and they also provide extra academic items for the classroom teachers. If you are interested in joining this group next year please call Mrs. LeCureux at 533-8916.
FLIP FLOPS / OPEN-TOED SHOES – Due to the number of injuries we have had in the past flip-flops and open-toed shoes are not allowed on the playground. If your child wears these to school please be sure to send a different pair to wear at recess.
BOX TOPS REWARD – For collecting over $600 worth of Box Tops our entire school will be rewarded by going to a movie downtown before the end of the school year. Keep clipping!
GRASP SUMMER READING AND MATH PROGRAM – GRASP is a guided, at-home program that helps students in Grades K-8 stay on top of math and language skills over the summer or practice future skills. It consists of 1 lesson per week for 9 weeks that are mailed to NMC. You can choose the grade level you want your child to complete. They are extending the deadline until June while supplies last so call Northwestern Michigan College ASAP if you are interested. 800-748-0566. Important parent Meeting May 27 or 28.
NMC COLLEGE FOR KIDS – NMC offers 179 summer classes for kids ages 3-17. Bonkers Over Bugs, Messy Masterpieces, Sports and Games, Whiskers and Wings, Kitchen Chemistry, Lego Art, plus over 100 more are waiting for your child to explore. Please call 231-995-1700. COOL TECH CAMP (5th, 6th, 7th graders) – Career Tech Center offers “Cool Tech Camp” June 23, 24, and 25 from 8:30-11:30. Some of the camps offered are: Robo-Trek, Stepping into the Garden, Welding and Fabrication, French Pastry School, Amazing Cartoons, and many more!! A limited number of scholarships are available.
